Selling your home? Your number-one priority is curb appeal!
When potential buyers drive by and see the “For Sale” sign in the yard, or pull up in their car for their showing, the first thing they judge is its curb appeal.
You’re living in the home, so you may not give curb appeal a second thought. But now that you’re listing it for sale, you have to take a whole new look at your house from the street or road.
Maybe you use the only the back door when you come and go, and you only open the front door to get the Sunday paper. Now it’s time to make the front yard, sidewalk, the front porch and entry way, and the front door itself show-stopping beautiful.
Power wash the siding, clean the windows, freshen the paint and trim and clean the windows. Mulch and plant flowers or flower pots, consider a crisp new flag, stage the front porch with furniture that looks inviting, maybe even adding pillows and an attractive new doormat.
Consider new door hardware with matching kick-plate. If the door or entry lighting needs to be replaced, replace it! Add shiny new house numbers so it’s easy to find, too.
Curb appeal is so critical, I’ve seen buyers drive away without even looking inside when the entrance is ugly.
